This policy explains what information ForkCast collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. ForkCast is operated by ForkCast LLC ("ForkCast", "we", "us"). If you have questions, email hello@eforkcast.com.
The short version
- We never see or store your Instacart password.
- Your meal plans, pantry and settings are saved on your own device during testing.
- We don't sell your personal information.
Information you give us
- Early-access requests and messages. If you ask for access or email us, we receive your name, email address and anything you choose to include, such as your ZIP code, household size or favorite store.
- Planning preferences. To plan meals, the app uses what you enter: ZIP code, store, household size, budget, nights to plan, dietary needs, cuisines you like, notes and pantry items.
Where your data lives
During testing, your plans, shopping lists, "Your Kitchen" menu and settings are stored in your web browser on your device. They are not sent to a ForkCast server. Clearing your browser data, or using "Start fresh" in Settings, removes them.
Services we work with
- Claude (Anthropic). During testing, ForkCast runs inside Claude. When you build or change a plan, your planning preferences are sent to Claude, using your own Claude account, to write recipes and estimate costs. Anthropic's handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy.
- Instacart. If you choose to connect Instacart, you sign in on Instacart's own page through Claude's connector settings. ForkCast can then search products and add items to your Instacart cart when you ask it to. We may see what Instacart returns for those requests, such as product names, your cart items and the city and ZIP of your delivery address. We don't receive your payment details, and nothing is ordered until you check out on Instacart yourself. Instacart's privacy policy governs data you share with Instacart.
How we use information
- To plan meals, build shopping lists and send items to your Instacart cart when you ask.
- To review early-access requests and contact you about the beta.
- To fix problems and improve ForkCast, including feedback you send us.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the services above to provide features you use, with service providers who help us operate (bound to protect it), or when required by law.
Your choices
- Disconnect Instacart at any time in Claude's connector settings.
- Delete your plans and kitchen with "Start fresh" in Settings, or by clearing your browser data.
- Ask us to delete your early-access request or messages by emailing hello@eforkcast.com.
Children
ForkCast is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the effective date above and, for significant changes, let testers know.
